CHEQUE AND CASH RECEIPTS AND CASH WITHDRAWALS, INCLUDING LOCAL SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE UK
OPG provides a network across the UK allowing customers to pay in cheques, payable orders and cash directly into their OPG account and withdraw cash, either across the counter or via security carrier.
The key service features are:
- Set up with Nat West (part of the RBS Group) one of the UK's leading clearing banks to provide nationwide coverage.
- Avoids the need for customers to hold additional accounts with commercial banks. Customers only need a single banking relationship with OPG for all their transaction needs.
- Customers receive effective value in their OPG accounts on Day 3.
- Different reference numbers can be used on Bank Giro Credit slips when paying-in to identify different sites, cost centres or accounting groups etc, to support your accounting needs.
- Customers may already be using security carriers to transport cash and cheques and for delivering bulk cash. Our service is designed to work with your existing arrangements, but it is essential to ensure that carriers used are NatWest approved.
- Paying in at NatWest Branches:
Choose any NatWest branch or a range of branches to pay in cheques. NatWest Rapid Deposit facilities can be used where these are available. You can also pay in small amounts of cash (up to an agreed maximum) at a NatWest branch. All you need is personalised BGC stationery, which you order through OPG.
- Paying in Cheques via NatWest Voucher Processing Centres:
Used for paying-in larger volumes of cheques. Our item prices are lower than using a local branch. You may only send items by a NatWest approved security carrier.
- Paying in Cash via NatWest Cash Centres:
Suitable for paying in larger amounts of cash (minimum levels apply) and prices are lower than using a local branch. You must use a NatWest approved security carrier and, where carriers use the consolidated coin scheme, ensure they pass the individual
Bank Giro Credit slips to the Cash Centre to enable the correct OPG account to be credited. OPG is currently improving this service and will be setting up new Business Current Accounts for individual users.
- Withdrawing Cash from a NatWest Branch:
Typically suitable for frequent low value amounts from any branch you have nominated in advance. You present a standard OPG Payable Order and agreed ID and collect cash immediately.
- Withdrawing Cash from a NatWest Cash Centre:
Typically suitable for withdrawing larger amounts of cash. You order cash from your security carrier (and inform OPG) 24 hours in advance. Your OPG account is debited directly on the day the cash is withdrawn. No pre-funding of commercial accounts is needed.
